This study is hardly the first to raise concerns that thiazide diuretics increase the risk of skin cancer. Research from Denmark published in 2017 found that these drugs ‘substantially’ increase the risk of developing the disease. Based on an analysis of around 80,000 Danish cases of skin cancer and 1.5 million healthy people, the researchers discovered that patients taking thiazides had up to seven times greater risk of developing squamous cell carcinoma, one of the most common forms of skin cancer.

To learn how high blood pressure can be controlled safely and naturally, without drugs, read chapter 7 of Dr. Rath’s classic book, ‘Why Animals Don’t Get Heart Attacks…But People Do!’.
